These terms govern your use of Crumble ("the service", "we", "us"). By creating an account or using the service you agree to them.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use Crumble. If you are under 16, in some EU member states you may also need parental permission under local law.
2. Account
You sign in via Google OAuth. Keep your Google account secure — anyone with access to it can access your Crumble account. Don't impersonate other people or organisations. We may suspend accounts that violate these terms.
3. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Post content that is illegal, defamatory, harassing, hateful, or sexually explicit.
- Upload photos you don't have the right to share, or photos of identifiable people without their permission where the law requires it.
- Scrape, crawl, or systematically extract data from the service.
- Probe or attack the service's security except as permitted under our vulnerability disclosure policy.
- Use the service to send unsolicited messages or run any commercial activity without our prior written agreement.
- Submit deliberately false reviews (astroturfing, paid placement, retaliatory reviews about places you have not visited).
4. Your content
You own the reviews, photos, comments, and other content you create on Crumble. We do not claim ownership of it.
To make the service work, you grant Crumble a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, adapt (only for technical purposes such as resizing or compressing images), and display your content to the audience you choose: yourself, your friends on Crumble, accepted co-authors of a review, and — only when you explicitly use the share feature — anyone with the share link. This licence ends when you delete the content or your account, except for cached copies that may persist briefly in our edge cache or in backups.
You are responsible for your content. Crumble does not endorse it. You confirm you have the rights necessary to grant the licence above.
5. Friends, co-authors, and visibility
By default, your spots and reviews are visible only to your friends on Crumble. Adding a co-author to a review grants that user the same display rights as you for that review. Share links generate a public, unguessable URL that anyone holding it can view; revoke it by deleting the share.
6. Service availability
We provide the service "as is" and "as available". We aim for high uptime but make no guarantees. Features may change or be removed. We may run scheduled or emergency maintenance.
7. Termination
You can delete your account at any time by contacting privacy [at] crumble [dot] me. We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these terms, abuse the service, or pose a legal or security risk. On termination your content is removed within 30 days, with the exceptions noted in the privacy policy.
8. Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Crumble is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, lost profits, or lost data arising from your use of the service. Our aggregate liability for direct damages is capped at the greater of (a) any amounts you have paid Crumble in the 12 months preceding the claim or (b) EUR 50.
Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under Dutch or EU consumer law, including liability for gross negligence or wilful misconduct.
9. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Netherlands. Disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent court in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, except where mandatory consumer-law rules give you the right to bring a case in your country of residence.
10. Changes
We may update these terms. Material changes are announced in-app, and the "last updated" date above moves forward. Continued use of the service after a change means you accept the new terms.
